Know the truth! Israel doesn’t occupy Gaza
First, you have to understand that we don’t occupy Gaza. That’s the biggest misconception I fight with the press the whole time. We left Gaza in 2005.
- They had elections—two different governments.
- Hamas is the elected government of the people of Gaza. Of course, they elected them just once. It’s “One Vote, One Man, One Time.”
- Because they’re exactly like Iran. They got elected, and that was that.
- Hamas is ISIS.
- Hamas is Iran.
- Hamas throws LGBTQ people off rooftops.
- They kill Fatah.
- They kill their political opponents.
- They lock up journalists. That’s what you’re dealing with. You’re not dealing with a normal government.
- You’re dealing with people who want to take the world back 500 years.
- They make no bones about the fact that they don’t want any peaceful resolution with Israel. It’s in their charter.
- They want the complete annihilation of Israel.
When you have a government like that, holding its own people hostage:
- What do you think the proportional response for Israel should be?
- Shouldn’t we be the ones dismantling that regime, which threatens our very existence?
- What would the UK [or US] do? If it’s the next-door neighbor who threw rockets, attacked, took hostages, and killed thousands of people?
There are only 9 million people in this country. If you compare today’s attack to American numbers, it would have been 9/11 [multiplied many times].
