November 9, 2023: One month after Hamas invaded Southern Israel on October 7 and massacred over 1,400 Israeli civilians.
The office of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei published a video.
- It included never-before-seen footage of a May 1998 meeting.
- The meeting took place in Tehran, between Khamenei and the Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.
- Yassin had arrived in Iran at the head of a Hamas delegation.
Yassin was assassinated by Israel in 2004.

Since its establishment, Hamas has declared its goal as the destruction of Israel. In its 1988 charter and ever since, Iran’s Islamic regime, refers to Israel as a “cancerous growth.”
The video shows parts of the 1998 meeting. Khamenei’s and Yassin’s discuss the need to destroy Israel through military conflict, including:
– Scenes from the current Israel-Hamas war.
– Focus on Gazans climbing on Israeli tanks and military vehicles.
– Hamas tunnels underneath Gaza
– Rocket attacks against Israel
and more.
Described is the Hamas military evolution, achieved via Iranian efforts. It starts with stone-throwing, from the time of its establishment by Yassin. And today’s rocket and drone attacks, penetrating deep into Israeli territory.

“If I had to choose my greatest journalistic achievement, this is it.
“There was a government upheaval in Israel that brought Binyamin Netanyahu to power. It followed the Oslo Accords and the blood of thousands of victims of Hamas attacks. Finally, the Prime Minister released the head of the snake from an Israeli prison.
“The release was part of a deal between the late Ariel Sharon, Binyamin Netanyahu, and the King of Jordan. The King in turn, released Mossad agents, who tried to assassinate Khaled Mashal on Jordanian soil. As part of the deal, the Mossad personnel returned to Israel, and the Hamas leader, Ahmed Yassin went home to Gaza.
“There was an effort to soften the blow to morale after Yassin’s release from prison. Netanyahu’s office launched a campaign to explain:
- Why the Sheikh became a moderate.
- Why Yassin was not connected to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades. They sent suicide bombers into Israel every couple of days.
“So, off we went to Gaza, accompanied by Palestinian police officers armed from head to toe. And we walked straight into the house of the head of the snake. The rest appears in the video (in Hebrew).
